There was a time when the legality of what comedians said onstage could lead to arrest. This shirt is an homage to the time when our biggest hero (we propose that he is stand-up comedy s patron saint) was first arrested for obscenity at the Jazz Workshop in San Francisco in the fall of 1961. The process of arrests he underwent were an effort to silence the words coming out of his mouth on a nightclub stage. He was ultimately martyred so that others might live. Forgive us if we laugh at what you call cancel culture now.

Yellow shirt with black line art. Designed by Blake Himsl Hunter.
