Butterick 6356 is a wonderful pattern that includes 3 different garments. A short shoulder cover-up, a tank top overlay top, and a simple longer cover-up. This Fashion Duo is for the longer cover-up. 

We have selected several of our most popular Batik Rayon fabrics for this simple Fashion Duo. The reason we love this longer cover-up is that it can be used as a quick top to toss on after working out, as a swim cover-up, or simply to wear for any reason what so ever!  It s an un-structured cover-up.

NOTES on SIZE: There are no sleeves to this cover-up. The side seam is a simple stitch line that starts above the hem and ends well below the shoulder. This stitching allows you to insert your arms without any issue. Please know your size, but go down a size or two before planning yardage. I am a 12 and I made an 8. I didn t want too much fabric running down my arms.

Sewing Techniques: sewing a straight seam; attaching a bias neck facing; garment hem.

Recommended Fabric: 44 Wide Batik Rayon.

Skill Level:  Confident Beginner.

Conventional Sewing Machine Serger: Either. Garment sewing is faster with a serger, but it s not required to sew on Batik Rayon. When sewing Batik Rayon with your conventional sewing machine use the overlock stitch and foot to secure the seam edges.
